This is not our national flag as the flag that is seen with the Union Jack and the Southern Cross was originally a compention as that of the Boxing Kangaroo.
The real Australian Flag is in fact the Union Jack.

Anyone with an ounce of Aussie patriotism in them would keep this flag. Our fathers and grand fathers fought for this country under this flag and it would be an insult to them for it to change! So what if the union jack is on the flag, it would be a reminder of where we came from and our heritage.

I love OUR flag, and served under it. When with United Nations forces, many recognised it, and it held a little awe with some. I'm proud of it, and my time serving under it. By the way, you are all welcome to an opinion

We need to change this flag ... Most people foget how the British treated Australians during the wars we fought beside them in.
The British have always treated Australians as second class.. We had the chance during the Eureka Rebellionin Victoria to rid ourselves of them but didn't take it.

Lets get rid of the Union Jack and just have the southern cross !

I saw the Richmond jumpers with the Aboriginal designs and I was jealous. I saw the Canadian flag and I was jealous. Why can't we have a decent flag like one of those instead of the monument to an empire that no longer exists that we have at the moment.

I have European heritage but believe this country still belongs to the Aborigines. We should have their flag as our national flag.

I Think its not what the flag looks like, but what it stands for.
The ANZAC's fought under the Union Jack so do we march under that on ANZAC Day? No we march under rthe symbol of our nation - whatever it is at the time

Personal I have always liked the flag that was used at the Eureka Stockade. It truly shows what Australia's will do to stand up for whats right.

Many strange comments, and everyone is free to their opinion, but I served under it on 2 Continents, and we loved it. It is our Flag and our Country, not part of anything else. Like Qantas, it brings a lump to your throat when you have been away, and when you have the pleasure of serving under it. It is home, and I love it!!!

First things are first....do we need to have a referendum on 'guts'? Are we the kind of people who like/can change? If the answer to the second part is yes, then yes. I suspect that the first question has to be answered first. Any(which)way I'm pissed!

Sorry Guys I've been a loyal listener since the station started as Vega but I am so sick to death of hearing the same songs over & over again I have to tune out. I nearly did when you went on your Who binge but you started you mix up the play list so I stayed but since then you haven't changed much at all. You seem to get stuck on an artist & just keep playing the same song.
EG: Paul Kelly in his bloody Silver Top heading to her door & The Oils - blue sky mine, so over it

I agree with rrgeard (above)..I'm a newbie to 95.3. but i'm sick of the stones replays..whynot the occasional muddy waters or sick deathmetal? mayb i'm just a miner for a heart of 'bold'??

Change it - If you are patriotic you dont want some other countrys flag dominating ours. Its time we showed some balls and show the world who we really are. USA & Canada were started by the Brits but look how patriotic they are now that they have their own identity.
Lizzie wont be around for much longer so its time to start to find a great replacement.
