MERV HUGHES
Former Australian fast bowler, Merv Hughes represented Australia between 1985 and 1994 in 53 test matches, taking 212 wickets. He played 33 One Day Internationals taking 38 wickets, took a hat trick against the West Indies at the WACA in 1988-89 and in 1993 took 31 wickets in the Ashes Series against England.
SIMON MARSHALL
Winner of 15 Group 1 events and 700 winners to his credit, Simon Marshall was Australia’s premier weight-for-age jockey. Simon experienced victories in all leading racing cities including Australia Cup, Australia Stakes, Mackinnon Stakes and South Australia Derby. After retiring in 1997, he built a promising media career before making a successful comeback on the track in 2002. Simon is again part of Channel Seven’s coverage of this year’s Spring Carnival.
